Naru Ayase is the main heroine of Pretty Rhythm: Rainbow Live, the third TV entry in the girls' idol franchise centered on the Prism Show — a dazzling performance sport that fuses figure skating, fashion, and pop music. An open-hearted middle schooler who initially stumbles into Prism Show almost by accident, Naru quickly falls in love with the spotlight and chases her dream of becoming a top Prism Star with complete, unwavering sincerity. Her signature ability to perceive people's emotions as vivid colors becomes a central motif of the series. She is voiced by Emiri Kato, a Japanese voice actress whose adorable, wide-eyed delivery perfectly captures Naru's earnest enthusiasm. Singing fully in character, Kato performs many of Naru's beloved character songs, most notably the insert track "Heart*Iro*Toridori~mu," whose title plays on the idea of dreams in many colors.
