Kana Minami is the middle of the three Minami sisters in the slice-of-life anime series Minami-ke. Loud, brash, and overflowing with unearned self-confidence, she is the resident mood-maker of the household, constantly launching the sisters into ill-advised schemes and sparring with her sharp-tongued younger sister Chiaki in the process. Her short attention span and wild enthusiasm drive many of the series' funniest moments, and her friendship with the similarly energetic Keiko and the put-upon Riko has become one of the show's most beloved dynamics. She is voiced by Marina Inoue, a Japanese voice actress whose bright, irrepressibly lively performances bring Kana to vivid, chaotic life. In the fourth season Minami-ke Tadaima, Inoue contributes in character to the opening theme "Shiawase☆High Tension↑↑" and the ending theme "Kyuu Sekkin Lucky DAYS," pouring Kana's manic energy into the group character songs that are a franchise staple.
