A singer-songwriter from Yamagata Prefecture. She studied min'yo (Japanese folk song) from early childhood and holds the distinction of having won Japan's top min'yo title. Known for an original musical style that fuses dialect and min'yo with contemporary sounds, she sings 'Boku wa Taiyaki', an insert song for the TV anime 'The Summer Hikaru Died', adding depth to the world of the work with vocals imbued with earthy emotion.
