Akiko Shikata is a female singer-songwriter, composer and arranger. She heads the indie music circle "VAGRANCY" and, even after her major debut, has continued to build her own musical world through games, anime and original projects. Her greatest hallmark is a grand, fantastical sound that incorporates folk, medieval and classical elements, with lyrics in many languages including Japanese, Italian, French, Latin, English, archaic Japanese and even invented languages. Her crystalline voice and richly layered chorus work give her a unique presence. She has performed theme songs for anime such as Yatagarasu: The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master, A Dark Rabbit Has Seven Lives, and Umineko: When They Cry.
