Ayase is a singer-songwriter and Vocaloid producer also known as the composer of the music unit YOASOBI. Under his solo name, he took on his first anime theme song vocals with "SHOCK!," the OP theme for the TV anime "Buddy Daddies," drawing attention with a high-speed pop sound. He also handled "Hiten," the OP theme for the TV anime "Rurouni Kenshin," in collaboration with R-Shitei.
