Sayuri, known as "Hypoxia Girl Sayuri" (Sanketsu Shojo Sayuri), was a Japanese female singer-songwriter from Fukuoka Prefecture. Describing herself as a 2.5-dimensional parallel singer-songwriter voicing the feelings of her "hypoxia generation," she moved to Tokyo in 2013 and debuted in 2015 with "Mikazuki," an ending theme for the anime "Rampo Kitan: Game of Laplace." She went on to provide theme songs for numerous anime including "Lycoris Recoil," "Yesterday wo Utatte," and "My Hero Academia," beloved for her poetic lyricism and crystalline voice before her passing in September 2024 at the age of 28.
