Susumu Hirasawa is one of Japan's leading electronic musicians and singers. He founded the progressive rock band Mandrake in the 1970s and later became the frontman of the pioneering techno-pop act P-MODEL, leading the Japanese new wave movement. Since 1989 he has also pursued a solo career with forward-looking sounds built on self-designed instruments and systems. His scores and songs for Satoshi Kon films and the "Berserk" franchise, paired with his mystical lyricism and unmistakable voice, have earned him devoted fans worldwide.
