After rising to fame as a member of Happy End, he went on to pursue his own visionary take on Japanese pop with a body of solo work that has had an incalculable influence on the country's popular music history. His classic song "Kimi wa Tennenshoku" was chosen as the ending theme of the anime Kakushigoto, lending its timeless pop brilliance to a story about the tender bond between parent and child and the passage of time.
