Artist

A musician who began piano at age five and studied jazz composition and performance at Berklee College of Music. She made her Japanese debut with the Ryuichi Sakamoto-produced single Konnichiwa Mata Ashita, weaving a buoyant pop world from her gentle vocals and refined piano. For Sunao Katabuchi's animated film In This Corner of the World she composed the entire score, including Migite no Uta and Tanpopo, earning honors such as the Japan Academy Prize for Outstanding Music.
