アン・サリー

Artist

Female singer-songwriter from Nagoya. A third-generation Korean Japanese born to a pediatrician father, she pursued medicine at Tokyo Womens Medical University while continuing to perform, an unusual dual path she still maintains as a practicing internist. Rooted in jazz, her repertoire spans bossa nova, Showa-era pop and beyond. For Mamoru Hosodas anime film Wolf Children, she sang Okaasan no Uta, with lyrics by the director and music by Masakatsu Takagi, delivering the prayer-like ballad with translucent warmth. Her commitment to balancing medicine and music has drawn lasting admiration.
