An actress, singer and model from Ibaraki Prefecture, internationally recognized for roles such as Takako Chigusa in Battle Royale and Gogo Yubari in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Vol. 1. She made her singing debut with Ryusei no Namida, the theme song for episode 1 of the OVA Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, which reached number one on the J-pop weekly chart of Hong Kong's RTHK. She followed with Cold Finger Girl, the opening theme of the TV anime Level E. Signed to Sony Music, she surprised anison fans by carrying her on-screen presence directly into music with mysterious expressive power.
