Japanese singer and actress. She debuted as a singer with "Sotsugyou" and has been active in both music and acting, including starring in the NHK drama "Hane Koma." Her single "Kanashimi yo Konnichiwa" became a hit as the opening theme for the anime "Maison Ikkoku." She is also active as a lyricist and received the Arts Festival Award for musical songwriting.
