Crystal Kay is a Japanese female R&B and pop singer born in Yokohama in Kanagawa Prefecture to a South Korean mother and an African American father. She signed with Epic Records Japan as a teenager, debuted with the single 'Eternal Memories' and brought a fresh breeze to the J-POP scene with her distinctive 'CK Sound,' which incorporates R&B and hip-hop. Her representative anime work includes 'Attitude,' the opening theme of the TV anime 'PaRappa the Rapper'; 'Konna ni Chikaku de...,' the ending theme of the TV anime 'Nodame Cantabile,' a famous tie-up alongside her drama hit 'Koi ni Ochitara'; and 'Motherland,' the ending theme of the TV anime 'Fullmetal Alchemist.'
