Escargot was a Japanese folk duo formed on Fukuoka's Oyafukou-dori, consisting of Tomoyuki Yamamoto from Kumamoto and Tomohiro Noda from Miyazaki. Debuting on King Records, the duo handled both the opening 'Tokyo' and the ending 'Situation' for the TV anime 'Carried by the Wind: Tsukikage Ran'. Yamamoto wrote and composed 'Tokyo' while Noda wrote and composed 'Situation', drawing on each member's songwriting voice to give the SF period-action series an unusually folk-driven musical identity. Despite a short career, they left a memorable mark on anime music.
