Lapis Lazuli

Lapis Lazuli was a Japanese rock band fronted by vocalist Hirosy (who later went on as Hironobu Kageyama's contemporary 'Kitadani Hiroshi'). Built around a strong band sound, the group's representative anime tie-up is the opening theme 'Never Die' for the 2001 TV anime version of 'Babel II'. Their powerful shouts and driving rock arrangement coloured this remake of Mitsuteru Yokoyama's classic SF manga, expressing the heat of psychic battles head-on. Praised for songs written by the members themselves, they also left their mark in the rock scene and the anime/game industry, including a sampled appearance in the 'Guilty Gear' soundtrack.
