Naomi Tamura is a Japanese female rock singer-songwriter who has been active since the 1980s, first stepping out as the lead vocalist of the band PEARL and building a catalogue of hard rock and pop material on the strength of a powerful yet centred voice. In anime, she is most identified with 'Yuzurenai Negai,' the opening theme of 'Magic Knight Rayearth,' a rock ballad she co-wrote with Hirokado Ishikawa that crossed the million-seller mark and earned her a spot on NHK's Kohaku Uta Gassen. She returned to anison years later with 'Yuragu Koto Nai Ai,' the opening theme of 'GetBackers,' co-composed with Morifumi Kawamoto, delivering another robust rock anthem to the genre.
