Shigi
Artist
Shigi is a Japanese singer-songwriter who began her career as a current university student. She made an early mark in 2008 with 'Shoumei', the theme song for the Tatsuya Fujiwara film 'Chameleon', and in the same year contributed 'Hanarebanare', the ending theme of the anime 'Kurozuka'. She wrote, composed and arranged the song entirely on her own, and it was later included on her debut mini-album 'Kyoumei'. Set against director Tetsuro Araki's hallucinatory, decadent visual world, her hushed, almost-whispered vocal and tightly self-contained arrangement carved out a distinctive presence.
