Matsubara Takeshi, born January 1979, is a Japanese theme-song singer for tokusatsu and anime productions and also active as a musical theater actor. With his cheerful, powerful vocal style as his core strength, he has been a regular contributor to theme songs aimed at younger audiences in anime and live-action tokusatsu series. For the Toei Animation TV anime 'Negibouzu no Asatarou,' broadcast from 2008 to 2009, he performed the opening theme 'Sanjou! Pyurutto Asatarou,' with lyrics by Sachiko Omori, composition by Nao Asada, and arrangement by Junjiro Seki. The catchy, upbeat song supported the story of the young swordsman Asataro from Chichibu Asatsuki Village, characteristic of bright family-anime opening themes.
