SUEMITSU & THE SUEMITH is a piano-pop project led by pianist and singer-songwriter Atsushi Suemitsu. Their representative anime tie-up is 'Allegro Cantabile,' the opening theme for 'Nodame Cantabile,' released as their fourth single, with Suemitsu himself handling lyrics, composition, and arrangement. The title—musical terminology meaning 'quickly, in a singing manner'—suits the upbeat piano pop that mirrors the show's classical-music setting. The single also included 'The Time SUEMITSU Met NODAME,' which incorporated a collaboration element with the show's heroine, and gave the project its first Oricon top-20 entry.
