Shigeru Izumiya is a folk rock singer who performed the opening theme "GeGeGe no Kitaro" for the anime "GeGeGe no Kitaro (5th series)" (2007). He covered the classic theme—written by creator Shigeru Mizuki and composed by Izumi Taku—in his characteristically powerful style, with arrangement by Katsumi Horii. He is known as a leading figure of Japan's folk rock scene.
