POLYSICS is a new wave / electro rock band from Tokyo, formed in 1997 around Hiroyuki Hayashi, with its name derived from the synthesizer 'Korg Polysix'. Built on strong influence from techno and new wave acts such as DEVO, Kraftwerk, and YMO, it is characterized by an energetic sound that voraciously incorporates diverse elements including punk and hard rock. Also known for a visual identity of matching uniforms and visors, it has a fervent fanbase both in Japan and abroad. Among its anime-related works are 'Rocket', the ending theme of the TV anime 'Moyashimon', and 'You-You-You', the opening theme of the long-running series 'Sgt. Frog', bringing a distinctive sound fusing technopop and punk into the works.
