Fonogenico is a band-format artist. In anime, the band is known for performing 'Reason,' the first ending theme of 'xxxHOLiC' (2006), based on the popular work by CLAMP. Lyrics were by Nahoko Takayama, composition by Jun Kawaguchi, and arrangement jointly by Hitoshi Shimono and the band. With a sound that complemented the fantastical, aesthetic world of a series depicting the supernatural and karmic cause and effect, it colored the ending of the first half of the broadcast. Tied to the distinctive atmosphere characteristic of CLAMP works, the band is remembered among mid-2000s anime theme songs.
