The Delgados are an indie rock band from Glasgow, Scotland. Centered on the twin vocals of Alun Woodward and Emma Pollock, they are distinguished by a lyrical sound built on melancholic melodies and strings, and are also known as the parent operators of the independent label Chemikal Underground. Among Japanese anime fans, they are widely known because 'The Light Before We Land', a track from their album 'Hate', was used as the opening theme of the TV anime 'GUNSLINGER GIRL'. The transparent sound characteristic of British indie deeply blends with the sorrow and fragility of the story of the cyborg girls, and it is still talked about as one of the finest anime openings by a foreign artist.
