YKZ is a Japanese mixture/instrumental rock band. Centering on rock while freely incorporating jazz, hip-hop and funk, they have produced largely instrumental material armed with irregular rhythms and tight ensemble playing. They have released multiple works on Sony-affiliated labels and are widely known for an anime tie-up that shares the band's name. 'R.O.D', the opening theme of the TV anime 'R.O.D -THE TV-', is an instrumental number composed and arranged by member Hideki Tanaka, driving the adventures of the book-loving paper-master sisters with stylish, urban sound and razor-sharp attack, and stands as a fine opening.
