GOMES THE HITMAN is a Japanese guitar pop / rock band fronted by Toshiaki Yamada. Formed in a music circle at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, they are acclaimed for their melodic songwriting and literary lyrics. For the TV anime 'Otogi Zoshi', they performed the second-half opening theme 'Ashita wa Kyou to Onaji Mirai'. Its gentle mid-tempo feel, rooted in everyday life, and fresh turns of phrase harmonized beautifully with the soft atmosphere of the series, which reimagined Heian and Kamakura-period tales in a modern setting, and the song left a strong impression of the band on anime song listeners.
