RIP SLYME is a Japanese hip-hop group made up of four MCs, RYO-Z, ILMARI, PES, and SU, plus DJ FUMIYA. With a style that combines nimble flows and a strong pop sensibility, they have been a leading force in the Japanese rap scene since the late 1990s. They handle everything from jazzy, stylish tracks to hard-hitting party tunes, and have produced many hits. In anime, they performed 'Super Shooter', the opening theme of 'GANTZ' and its sequel 'GANTZ -the 2nd stage-', based on the original work by Hiroya Oku. Their razor-sharp rapping injected speed into the show's dark world, and the song is remembered as an iconic piece for the series.
