DROPS is a unit name for five female voice actresses then belonging to Aoni Production: Mariko Kouda, Tomoko Kaneda, Akemi Kanda, Ai Nonaka, and Ryoko Shiraishi, characterized by a lively, flashy mic-relay singing style. In anime, they performed 'Furare Kibun de Rock'n' Roll', the ending theme of the school 4-panel comedy 'Sensei no Ojikan' based on the original work by Tamami Momose. The original song is an 80s hit by TOM-CAT, and their cover presented it in the high-energy arrangement typical of a voice actress unit, adding a colorful afterglow to the slapstick everyday life of the petite female teacher Mika Suzuki and her highly individual students. With a first-press edition that included a DVD featuring the music video, the song drew attention from both anime fans and voice actress fans.
