Toshinobu Kubota is one of Japan's leading male R&B/soul singer-songwriters, hailing from Shizuoka Prefecture. Since his 1986 debut, he has been a pioneering figure in rooting authentic Black music in Japan and has released numerous hit songs. On the anime front, he performed 'Funky Fighters', the opening theme of Chou Positive! Fighters, a short-format anime cheering on the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters.
