ZZ is a Japanese rock group. Built around edgy hard rock sound, they specialize in songs with a sense of speed. On the anime front, they performed 'SamuraiCrew', the opening theme of the Bakumatsu-era sci-fi action Samurai Gun, produced by Studio Egg and broadcast in the fall of 2004. They provided this work, with its fusion of Japanese and Western elements, a hard-boiled rock tune built on English lyrics, setting up a sense of momentum for the show's opening. The single SamuraiCrew was also released as an anime tie-in edition.
