TV anime 'The Summer Hikaru Died' 1st anniversary event key visual revealed; Chiaki Kobayashi, Shuichiro Umeda and TOOBOE join as guests

KADOKAWA has announced new details for the music event 'TV anime The Summer Hikaru Died -Weaving One Year in Sound and Visuals 1st Anniversary Festival-', to be held on July 5, 2026, commemorating the first anniversary of the anime's broadcast. A key visual using a newly drawn illustration created for this event has been revealed, and guest performers have also been announced.

The key visual features Yoshiki and Hikaru at the heart of the story, along with classmates Asako, Yuki and Yuta. Departing from their usual school uniforms, the five are dressed in formal attire such as tuxedos and dresses prepared for this event, holding instruments including a violin, trombone and Irish harp in a gorgeous and special visual.

■A one-day-only special stage that relives the TV anime first season through 'sound and visuals'

At this event, the story of the TV anime first season is revisited in chronological order through digest footage, while an orchestra performs the background music live. The performance deliberately uses no audio from the anime itself, immersing the audience in the world through only the melodies of the score and minimal sound effects. The only voices heard are 'live dubbing' by Chiaki Kobayashi (as Yoshiki Tsujinaka) and Shuichiro Umeda (as Hikaru), highlighting the vivid performances unfolding before the audience.

In addition, the Kanagawa Prefectural Shonan High School Choir Club, which performed the choral piece 'Hibi no Kage' in the anime, will perform the same song together with the two cast members. To close the retrospective, TOOBOE, who handled the ending theme, will sing 'Anata wa Kaibutsu' in an orchestral arrangement exclusive to this event.
