"Reiwa no Dara-san" is an occult comedy inspired by "Kankandara", a horror tale long told on a Japanese occult message board; for its commercial serialization, the name of the curse deity was changed to "Yamatagimadara". Hyuga and Kaoru, born into the Misogiya family that has guarded a forbidden "cursed ground" deep in a mountain village for generations, venture into the taboo place one stormy night and encounter the giant serpent-bodied curse deity Yamatagimadara. Yet rather than fearing the apparition, the two affectionately call it "Dara-san" and quickly take to it. The series depicts the noisy yet heartfelt days woven by Dara-san, who carries a sorrowful past, and the overly free-spirited siblings.
Staff: original work by Haruomi Tomotsuka, direction by Rihito Suzuki, series composition by Toru Kimura and Yasutomo Yamada, character design by Koichi Kikuta, music by Rei Ishizuka, animation production by Asahi Production. The opening theme is "Dara Dara Dancing". The cast includes Mutsumi Tamura as Dara-san, Minami Tsuda as Hyuga Misogiya, Momoka Terasawa as Kaoru Misogiya, and Masaki Terasoma as narration.
<Second "Moshi Dara" Illustration Released>
The second installment of the "Moshi Dara - What if Dara-san were ___?" project, which releases an illustration on the Day of the Snake each month, has been unveiled. May features Dara-san dressed as a waitress holding strawberry parfaits.
<Episodes 1 & 2 Advance Screening Event Confirmed>
Ahead of the terrestrial broadcast, an advance screening event for Episodes 1 and 2 will be held. The screened footage will be the "Is this okay in the Reiwa era!? ver.", which is not aired on terrestrial TV, and attendees will receive an original sticker. A cast talk show is also planned, with appearances by Mutsumi Tamura (Dara-san), Minami Tsuda (Hyuga Misogiya), Momoka Terasawa (Kaoru Misogiya), and the work's official cosplayer Kei Fubuki.
