AIC-produced SF space pirate OVA, co-directed by Katsuhito Akiyama and Hiroki Hayashi across two volumes. Aboard the pirate ship Sol Bianca, five women - Falmel, June, Janny, Feb, and Rianne - traverse worlds across the galaxy and become entangled in jobs and conspiracies. As an unusually all-female space pirate work for its time, it stands out for its distinct ensemble characters, well-built future setting, and AIC's hallmark high-quality animation and mecha design. The series gained a sequel in 1999 with 'Taiyo no Fune Sol Bianca,' cementing its place as a cult SF gem. Performances by Hiroyuki Ochi, Rica Matsumoto, and Yoshiko Sakakibara stand out.
