Mecha-fantasy that began on Nagoya TV and TV Asahi in April 1988. Five teenage boys donning the mystical Yoroi armors named for Confucian virtues fight to defeat the resurrected demonic overlord Arago. Sunrise's serious storytelling combined with intense bishounen character dynamics ignited a passionate female fanbase, formed the voice-actor unit NG5 and helped pioneer the late-80s pretty-boy anime boom.
