Gag anime that began on TV Tokyo in April 1988 — J.C.Staff's first ever TV series. Adapting Belgian cartoonist Dupa's comic strip via creator Maki Nakahara, the show chronicles the unruly antics of cheerful elderly Ron and his uncannily articulate dog Dommel, who can speak and even drive. The 52-episode global-flavoured comedy was sustained by Mitsuko Horie's theme songs and a roster of eclectic directors.
