An independent theatrical anime based on Kiriko Kubo's popular four-panel manga. Directed by the manga artist herself and screened at Cine Switch Ginza in short-form format, it is a singular work in which the source's sharp absurdist gags and the urban dweller's languor are vividly visualised alongside avant-garde New York-recorded music by music director John Zorn. Concentrating the atmosphere of 1980s subculture, it has been re-evaluated as an experimental animation that distils the period's underground sensibility.
