An adventure anime overseen by veteran scriptwriter and lyricist Yasuharu Kawauchi, who personally crafted the storyline, scripts and theme songs. Dorimogu and his sister Hanamugu, young moles dispatched by their tribe from 9th-century Frankia to thwart Charlemagne's expansion, travel through Europe, the Silk Road and eventually to Japan, with a second arc set 300 years later in medieval Asia. The blend of world history and anthropomorphic mole adventurers gave it a charm all its own.
