TV anime produced by Kokusai Eigasha as the second installment of the J9 series following 'Galactic Cyclone Braiger'. Aired from July 6, 1982 to March 29, 1983 on TV Tokyo network, 39 episodes total. Set in the 'Galactic Napoleon Wars' era and modeled on the Bakumatsu period Shinsengumi, the story follows young defectors from the Earth Federation forces who form the Bakushinger team to fight for honor. Masayuki Yamamoto's energetic theme songs and insert songs, especially the title song 'Galactic Gale Baxinger' performed by Yukio Yamagata and Satoru Sakabe, remain beloved classics of robot anime music.
