Anime film produced and distributed by Toei Animation, an original theatrical work depicting the past of Leiji Matsumoto's iconic character Captain Harlock. Released July 28, 1982, 130 minutes long. The film weaves together the story of WWII German airman Phoenix Harlock resisting the Nazis with the future Captain Harlock confronting the Illumidas Empire—a cross-time epic. It led directly to the subsequent TV series 'Arcadia of My Youth: Endless Orbit SSX'.
