A television anime produced by Tatsunoko Production and aired on Fuji Television, marking the fifth installment in the long-running Time Bokan time-travel comedy franchise. Following Time Bokan, Yatterman, Zendaman, and Time Patrol-tai Otasukeman, Yattodetaman keeps the series' familiar formula intact: a young pair of heroes pursued by a hapless trio of villains across history. Here, ordinary boy Tadahiko (Tosshi) and the dignified Princess Aramis transform into the costumed hero Yattodetaman, clashing each week with the comic villain trio Mirenjo, Cocoa-obasan and Kokematsu. The most distinctive innovation is the introduction of a giant ally robot, the colossal Daikyojin, which folds toy-line-friendly mecha action into the show's slapstick comedy. The series' Masayuki Yamamoto-penned songs are remembered as enduring classics of zany Tatsunoko anime music.
