Doraemon: Nobita's Little Star Wars (The Records of Nobita, Spaceblazer)

A theatrical anime produced by Shin-Ei Animation, the second entry in the Doraemon film series, based on Fujiko F. Fujio's same-titled long-form manga originally serialized in Shogakukan's CoroCoro Comic. The story begins when Nobita stumbles upon a small half-tatami patch in his room that mysteriously connects through space-time to a vast ranch on the far-off planet of Koya-Koya. Because the planet's gravity is lighter than Earth's, Nobita's ordinary movements become extraordinary feats of strength, granting him hero status as he, Doraemon, Shizuka, Gian and Suneo rally to defend the gentle settler family of Roppuru and Chamy from the tyrannical Galtite Mining Company. Notably the first Doraemon film to feature a wholly original theme song-'Kokoro o Yurashite,' written by Tetsuya Takeda and composed by Shunsuke Kikuchi-the picture remains widely regarded as one of the most heartfelt and elegantly executed entries in the entire franchise.
