An adaptation of Atsuo Saito's beloved children's novel 'Glick's Adventure,' the story of a pet chipmunk named Glick who escapes domestic life and undertakes a perilous journey north in search of his ancestral forest. Along the way he meets a vivid cast of fellow rodents, flying squirrels, and birds, forming friendships and confronting questions of whether animals and humans can ever truly coexist - all set against the natural wonder and unforgiving harshness of the wild. Directed by Hideo Nishimaki with a tender score by Reijiro Koroku, the film features renowned voice talent led by Toru Furuya (best known as Amuro Ray in Mobile Suit Gundam) in the title role, alongside Yoko Asagami and Riho Yoshida. Nostalgic, beautifully painted backgrounds and intimate animal psychology make this a quiet classic of 1980s Japanese children's literary anime.
