Moero Arthur: Prince of the White Horse

もえろあーさー はくばのおうじ

Aired: 1980

A television anime produced by Toei Doga (now Toei Animation) and broadcast on Fuji Television, conceived as the direct sequel to 'Enkaku no Kishi Monogatari Moero Arthur' (1979-80). Continuing the loose adaptation of the King Arthur legend, the series follows the young king Arthur after his initial victory over the dark sorcerer alongside the Knights of the Round Table. When malevolent powers rise again, Arthur takes up Excalibur and rides out with his white horse and loyal companions on a new round of heroic adventures, confronting questions of duty, comradeship and the responsibilities of a young monarch to his people. Toei Doga's swashbuckling action staging and Ichiro Mizuki's full-throated theme song 'Ore wa Arthur' give the second series a stirring, sequel-as-reboot quality that lets new viewers join while continuing the larger story.
