A standalone television anime produced by Shin-Ei Animation and broadcast as a one-off special on TV Asahi affiliates on 8 April 1980. Adapting the 1979 manga 'Dora Q Perman' - a rare joint project credited to the duo of Fujiko Fujio (Fujiko F. Fujio and Fujiko Fujio A) together with Hideo Shinoda - the special is built on a then-irresistible crossover premise: Doraemon, Obake no Q-taro and Perman No. 1, the three iconic heroes of Fujiko Fujio manga, share a single screen for the first time and team up to solve a shared incident across each other's story worlds. Existing theme music from the earlier black-and-white TBS Perman and Obake no Q-taro television series is used diegetically when each hero appears, evoking each character's original era.
