Lalabel, the Magical Girl: The Sea Calls a Summer Vacation

A theatrical anime produced by Toei Animation and released within Toei's Summer Vacation Toei Manga Festival, an approximately fifteen-minute original short created for theaters. As a film version based on the television anime Lalabel, the Magical Girl, it depicts an episode independent of the main series. Lalabel, a girl who came from the magical world, goes swimming at the sea with her human-world friends Teko and Toko, and uses her magic to help Ryota, a boy single-handedly running a guesthouse, in a heartwarming story of one summer's friendship. As the film version of this work belonging to the lineage of Toei's magical-girl series, it adorned one segment of the manga festival. The original is the manga by Eiko Fujiwara, and the theme songs are the same as those used in the television series.
