A TV anime produced by Shin-Ei Animation. Adapting Japanese children's literature and fairy tales typified by the magazine Akai Tori, it aired in 26 episodes on TV Asahi from February 5 to July 30, 1979. Each self-contained episode dramatized classic tales by authors such as Nankichi Niimi and Mimei Ogawa, delivering emotionally rich shorts for children with a strong educational character.
