A TV anime produced by Toei Doga (now Toei Animation). Based on the original work by Shiro Jinbo, it aired in 50 episodes on TV Asahi from February 9, 1979 to February 8, 1980, a landmark in Toei's magical-girl lineage. Lunlun, a girl living with her grandparents in rural southern France, learns on her 12th birthday that she carries the blood of the flower fairies and sets out to find the 'seven-colored flower' that symbolizes the next monarch of planet Flower. Guided by the cat Cato and the dog Nouveau, she travels across Europe, growing through her kindness and drive to help those in need. The theme song performed by Mitsuko Horie became a major hit.
