A TV anime produced by Dax International. The second work of the literary anime slot Kirin Meikyoku Roman Gekijo on Tokyo Channel 12 (now TV Tokyo), it aired in 13 episodes from April 19 to July 12, 1979. Against the backdrop of the end of the Franco-Prussian War and the turmoil of the Paris Commune, the wealthy Parisian girl Isabelle, making her social debut, disguises herself as a man and throws herself into the uprising against Prussian occupation and the conservative government, torn between love and battle in a turbulent era-a hard-edged historical drama. Screenwriter Takeshi Shudo participated. Classical pieces such as Chopin's Fantaisie-Impromptu were used as themes. (C)Dax International
