A TV special anime produced by Nippon Animation. Based on the 1968 children's novel by Paul Gallico, this special aired on the Fuji TV network on June 30, 1979. The pottery craftsman old man Mayer, living in an English village, makes a uniquely shaped ceramic mouse figurine while drunk. The mouse, which comes to life in the dead of night, sets off on an adventure while learning 'what courage is,' in a heartwarming tale. Directed by Hiroshi Saito.
