A TV anime produced by Chijin Pro and Knack, broadcast in 39 episodes by Asahi Broadcasting (ABC) on the TV Asahi network. Based on Antoine de Saint-Exupery's world-renowned fairy tale The Little Prince, it follows the prince who leaves his tiny asteroid and travels from planet to planet, meeting boys and animals on Earth and gradually drawing closer to the truth that what is essential is invisible to the eye. While preserving the lyricism of the original, it was rebuilt as a serial TV anime with self-contained original episodes. Known for the participation of animators such as Yoshikazu Yasuhiko who later rose to fame, it is marked by a style that pairs fairy-tale gentleness with a philosophical afterglow.
