A sports anime produced by Shin-Ei Animation, based on the baseball manga by Shinji Mizushima. The story begins when Ikkyu Sanada, an unconventional boy descended from ninja who possesses astonishing physical abilities but knows nothing of baseball's knowledge or rules, joins the baseball club of the prestigious Kyojin Gakuen High School. Armed with superhuman reflexes and ninja-like feats, Ikkyu battles toward Koshien with wild, disruptive play that sweeps everyone up. Weaving in friendship with teammates and rivals and comedic uproar, it cheerfully depicts a youth growing through baseball, an entry in the lineage of Mizushima's baseball works.
